Comfortably Seated
This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.
Psalms 119:50 KJV
It's 5:14 in the afternoon. I am seated in a cylindrical shaped trash can-like object beside the bus driver. This thing I am seated on has no stability, so I need to balance myself during the trip from Buendia Makati to San Pedro, Laguna.
Actually, this is just one of those rare moments when I get seated during my trips from the office to San Pedro. I do this daily. I usually travel standing up in the bus.
So while I am sitting here I came to notice this bible verse:
"and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
Ephesians 4:24 NIV
Actually I just searched for verses related to "new life in Christ" because that's what I talked about yesterday.
When I browsed for this verse through the Bible app, I noticed this segment from verse 17-32, titled lnstructions for Christian Living.
When I read these verses, I smiled. 😊 Why? Because I realize that my Father in Heaven is really talking to me, reminding me on how I should react to situations.
As far as I can remember, Monday to Friday travel time (4pm to 6pm) from work to home is the most stressful of all time I have in my current life routine. Well, as I have said, most of the time, I am standing up in the bus while traveling back home. I also forgot to mention that waiting for a bus is a hard struggle. I feel heaviest during these times, I feel most stressed, most irritated. There have been many situations in which I couldn't control my temper during these times.
But wow! How these Words of my amazing Father in heaven comfort me!
During my trip today I am relaxed and seems like I am not stressed at all despite the heavy workload earlier at the office!
You know how this human nature dictates us that when we read signs, notices, and reminders, like for example, Ephesians 4:24, which reminded me to put on my new self, we usually react with "okay, I'll do it," just for the sake of comforting the person who requested it, in this case, it is God who reminds me of it. But - - it's the other way around... It is me who is being comforted by my amazing Father's Words!
Truly, our God is the God of all comfort!
Oh Lord what can I do if I do not have You?
To this, I give all praises and glory to our Father in Heaven!
