He Alone is Sufficient!
Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Proverbs 3:9-10 NIV
As Christians, we feel the need to obey, not just to comply, but as what I've said in my previous blog entries, we obey because we love the Lord. But as a human being, it is not always easy to obey! One of these commands which is taking a tenth of your wealth and giving it as an offering, is surely one of the hardest, I must admit.
It was last Sunday that I scheduled my offering of the recently received blessing. It left me with a mere P200.00 - enough for a day of survival for me - in which, I needed to have five days equivalent of money for allowance at work before my next salary comes. Had I not been obedient, I would still be having more than P2,000.00 in my wallet.
But the bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." -Proverbs 3:5-6.
I surrendered my ten percent to the Lord last Sunday. The worries came to me surely, but to my surprise - all my needs, He made sufficient. I received more than enough during the four days. I received even double of the ten percent I gave to the Lord last Sunday.
I must admit I was tempted more than ten times to not submit my offering because of my physical needs. But guess what? More problems and more unexpected expenses came to me.
That is why I am always praying to the Lord to guide me in this and to always remind me that His grace is sufficient - not just spiritually but physically and materially!
Truly when we honor the Lord with our wealth, He will give us overflowing blessings! That's true and I can attest to that!
Praises, glory and all honor only to our God, the Creator of everything and the Provider of all good things!
Thank You Jesus!
