I am Weak, He is Strong

Hear me, Lord , and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Psalms 86:1 NIV

Psalms 86, a prayer of David. We all know David was king, and kings are respected, praised, honored by his subordinates and his people. We see kings as people of power, riches and sophistication. We do not even see them as regular human beings, who, just like us, need to eat, sleep, and use the toilet.

We can read in this chapter are the following:
1. King David's acknowledgment of his weaknesses
Even though he was king, he acknowledged that he was just poor and needy (v1). Imagine, he was "king" but he was poor and needy.
2. David's reliance on God's:
a. Love and concern for us (v1, 6 & 7 - hear me, God)
b. Protection (v2 - guard us)
c. Joy (v3)
d. Forgiveness (v4)
e. Glory (other verses)

I have made a name for myself. I am a professional, I recently became a professor, and currently I am pursuing my doctorate degree. Many times I think highly of myself, because I know who I am. But I also am reminded by the Lord, always, to practice humility, because only the Lord deserves to be glorified and praised, and these titles that I have right now are worthless when I come home to Him.

Remember the ways to salvation? It is by admitting sins and repenting, throwing all our pride away and letting go of it because it is a heavy baggage for us, and then, accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Seems like Psalms 86 is also giving us a peek about salvation.

Praise be to God because He has reminded me again this time. It is okay to admit mistakes, weaknesses, because in the end, it is God who is still the greatest of all, and we do not have to worry because even though we are weak, our God carries us so we won't be  in danger.

Praises and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ forever!
