Perseverance Makes Perfect

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
James 1:2-3 NIV

Considering verse 2 of James Chapter 1, we can see the "absolute" phrase, "pure" joy whenever you face trials. As a human being, this is hard to achieve. It does not say "just be happy, as happy as you can," but it says "consider it pure joy," meaning we must not feel even 1% of sadness whenever we face trials of many kind.

How do we achieve it? Through perseverance (v3) Perseverance, according to google, is synonymous to the words determination, patience, dedication, commitment and endurance. What is the result of perseverance? Verse 4 says we may be mature and complete, not lacking anything - another absolute phrase.

We all know it is hard to reach perfection in everything we do, because we are only humans. But the Word of God continues to encourage us to reach absolute completeness and perfection through faith and perseverance, because with God, nothing is impossible. And not only that, God gives wisdom generously to all who ask without finding fault (v5), another absolute phrase. All we have to do is to have faith, believe and NOT doubt (v6), I repeat, NOT ever doubt! Absolutely.

It is like just as how we make the ever famous dalgona coffee, we whisk, and whisk, and whisk to achieve the "dalgona" perfection of the cofee's stiff peaks because we BELIEVE we can do it and post it into our social media accounts. We persevere and go for it - to reach the perfection that God has destined us, to have faith 100% because we know there is nothing impossible with God.

Praises to our Lord Jesus Christ! Blessed be His Name! Glory!
