Still Binded though Separated
Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together. That is where the tribes go up— the tribes of the Lord — to praise the name of the Lord according to the statute given to Israel.
Psalms 122:3-4 NIV
When I read Psalms 122 beginning from verse 1 and 2, "I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord .” Our feet are standing in your gates, Jerusalem," I suddenly missed our Sunday worship services. We would go as a family and worship the Lord together. Though we were always pressured because we were always late, the excitement to gather with our brothers and sisters in Christ was there.
Then came COVID-19 and currently we are on lockdown. We couldn't do our worship services physically.
Verse 2 of Psalms 122 describes Jerusalem, the "city" closely compacter together, where the tribes go up— the tribes of the Lord — to praise the name of the Lord. The church building is the first thing that pops up in my mind but now I realize that even though we do not meet physically for our worship services, we are still one church - one heart and one mind - to praise the Lord Jesus Christ whenever, wherever we are right now. We are still together, glorifying the Lord our God. Jesus is the glue that binds us all together.
Also, I have realized that though we are all apart from each other, we still continue to bless each other to be secure (v6), peaceful (v7-8), and prosperous (v9).
Praises, Glory and Honor to our Lord Jesus Christ!
