Surrender Fully
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
Psalms 130:5 NIV
The theme of Psalms 130 is about our hope in the Lord. Verse 7 says, "Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption."
Indeed, our God is our hope. We are told not to worry, for God has already done everything for us. We just have to have faith in Him.
However, some Christians tend to over-claim God's promise of hope, but won't fully surrender themselves to God. They only like bible verses about God's love and promises, but are not willing to obey God and love Him fully, with all their heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37).
"My whole being waits," as written in verse 5, describes how Christians should surrender to the Lord. We need to fully surrender so we can fully enjoy God's promises. We need to turn away from our sins and give our full selves to God, so we can fully enjoy the full benefits of His promises.
Faith is not something we just blurt out or say with our lips so people can say we are Christians. Faith is a lifestyle, and when we say lifestyle, we mean it is in our way of everyday life that we praise, honor, glorify our Father in heaven by obeying His Words, fully surrendering ourselves. We can reap the benefits because why not? We have a loving Father in heaven and he rewards us bountifully when we follow His will.
Praises to our Lord Jesus Christ!
